Sunshine

There is always quite the audience for the sunrise, as the animals wake and see the glorious beginning of the day. As the light gently begins to spread through fog filled sky, tenderly stroking everything it touches. The sun slowly begins to climb as if weary of some unseen beast.
Colors meld, and many are captivated, and those by the ocean or pond or stream even have a sight to behold as the water is turned to a canvas displaying the rising of the day. Of the sun. Of the light bringer. Of a star.
All the animals loved the sunrise, some it meant the end of a tiresome day, and for others it was the beginning. The sunrise was welcome. And all were able to watch it as they anticipated the sunset. When the rays would peek below the horizon, but for now the glow emanated from everywhere.
The ones watching basked in it.
Loved it.
Adored it.
The sun continued on its journey, unaware of its audience, of the awe it inspired. Among this group whom worshiped the drops of sun that colored huge swaths of sky there went unnoticed a small creature.
The little creature shied away feeling alone and scared. It sighed, before leaving, wishing it could see properly. All it saw was pain and blinding light. Though before he thought it had seen the most beautiful thing in the world.
The warm light burned its skin and it retreated. It sighed. The sunrise. The sunset. It burned him to see them; and yet....

Note| Sorry for the short post I'm having writers block!

  2. You definitely captured the magic of sunrise... I've always been a sunset person, but sunrises are lovely too. What about you?

  3. I personally think that the shortness of this post actually makes it better than if it was elongated. The essence of "short and sweet"ness makes it stick in my mind. Wonderful writing...wow (alliteration writing skills yay)

  4. Thanks you guys. I'm deciding on whether I like the short posts with an almost poetic feel to it while I'm writing or the longer 'chapter' style posts.
